2007-10-31 Gilbert Arenas Launches the 2008 Scores for School Program and Unveils the Scores for Schools Adidas GIL II ZERO

許多NBA球星打球之餘也都不忘做公益來回饋鄉里,Gilbert Arenas也是其中之一,他與Washington Wizards球隊老闆合作推行的"Scores for Schools"計畫即將邁入第二年了, Arenas今日正式對外公佈了經選定參與今年計畫的82所位於Washington D.C.區域的學校,透過這個計畫Arenas在每場比賽中每得一分便捐出美金一百元各這些學校,主場由Arenas本人出資,客場則由Washington Wizards的老闆Abe 與 Irene Pollin包辦,去年Arenas共為孩子們募得了二十一萬五千美元~~~

另外"Scores for Schools"這個主題也在今年adidas為Arenas推出的TS Lightswitch GIL Remix計畫之中,今天adidas也正式對外發表了這一鞋款,很美國味的藍白紅配色,配上大大的蘋果Logo在鞋帶固定環上,未來adidas將為參與此計劃每所學校製作一對供展示用,全數經Arenas親筆簽名並標有每所學校所對應的比賽日期,最終在球季結束後將透過公開競拍的方式為學童們募得更多的資金... 另外這款鞋也將製作五千對於08年初對外販售...

Earlier today, Gilbert Arenas selected 82 lucky Washington D.C. area Public Schools, out of a lottery pool of 245, to be a part of his Scores for Schools program. The Scores for Schools Program, now entering its second year, helps supply computers, athletic uniforms and equipment, as well as fund after-school programs through donations made by Gilbert Arenas and the Washington Wizards' owners Abe and Irene Pollin. This year, Gilbert will donate $100 for each point that he scores while playing at home and Abe and Irene Pollin, will donate $100 for each point Agent Zero scores while playing away. Last year the Scores for Schools program helped to raise nearly $215,000 for local Washington D.C. area schools.
 
In addition to selecting the Scores for Schools participating schools, Gilbert and Adidas unveiled their "Scores for Schools" Adidas GIL II ZERO, the first GIL II ZERO to be unveiled as part of the Adidas TS Lightswitch GIL Remix program, which features a Red/White/Blue Adidas TS Lightswitch GIL that features the "Scores for Schools" logo on the forefoot strap and a holographic apple on the tongue. As part of the Scores for Schools program, Adidas will donate 82 pairs of the "Scores for Schools" GIL II ZERO to each of the winning schools to display throughout the season. The sneakers will be signed by GIL and marked with the date of each school’s NBA game. At the end of the season the winning schools will have the option to put their pair of autographed and dated sneakers into an auction on on www.GilsArena.com to raise additional money for their students.
 
5,000 Pairs of the "Scores for Schools" Adidas GIL II ZERO will be made available to the public to purchase in early 2008.
